Call
for Proposals for Break-out Sessions
We invite you to submit a proposal to organize
and lead a break-out session at one of the three symposia. Each symposium
program will have one or two periods for small group break-out sessions
to highlight instructional and curricular activities by faculty in the
Chicago area and to provide opportunities for discussions of issues relating
to undergraduate instruction in mathematics and science. Creating
a forum for sharing ideas on the mathematics and science preparation of
preservice K-12 teachers is of particular interest.
Break-out sessions
at each symposia will offer opportunities to learn about and engage in
discussions on a comprehensive range of topics. These include:
-
curricular
questions of what students should learn,
-

questions of how to support students' learning, and
-
assessment questions
of how to recognize students' intellectual growth.
