Arithmetic Properties of Dynamical Sequences
Abstract: I will give an introduction to the study of arithmetic properties of sequences associated to iteration of a rational function defined over a number field, focusing on the notion of the Zsigmondy set associated to such a sequence. I will also give an overview of some of the methods used to prove effective Zsigmondy results, particularly in the case of the critical orbit of $z^d+c$.
Though all are welcome to attend, this talk is intended to be accessible for graduate students of all levels; no background knowledge of arithmetic dynamics is expected.
