Introduction to Higgs Bundles, part 1
Abstract: In this short series of talks, I will introduce the theory of Higgs bundles and the Hitchin parametrization of the character variety of a surface group. This will include the correspondence between representations, local systems, flat connections, and Higgs bundles.
This talk is intended for graduate students.
