Divisors, Line Bundles, and Linear Series
Abstract: This week we begin our study of positivity with a review of the classical notions of divisors and linear series and the problem of embedding varieties in projective space, as well as the more modern language of line bundles. After discussing intersection products and some basic facts about numerical equivalence of divisors, we will state asymptotic Riemann-Roch for divisors and coherent sheaves. If time remains, I may say a few first words about ampleness.
