Singularities of Schubert varieties in Grassmannians
Abstract: Schubert varieties have well understood singularities, in particular an explicit description can be given using a number of different approaches. In this talk I will give a description of the singular loci of Schubert varieties in Grassmannians using two different arguments: One uses the Bott-Samelson resolution, the other gives a description of their tangent spaces.
