A constructive approach to mirror symmetry
Abstract: Mirror symmetry is a duality found by string theorists. It reveals deep links between complex and symplectic geometries. In this talk I will explain a constructive approach to mirror symmetry based on the SYZ program. It explains why mirror symmetry occurs and gives an enumerative meaning of the mirror map, which plays a central role in mirror symmetry. It also gives an effective way to compute the open Gromov-Witten invariants, which are in general obstructed and difficult to derive.
