Introduction to Hodge modules and some applications to algebraic geometry
Abstract: Morihiko Saito's Hodge module is a beautiful theory generalizing hodge structure and variation of hodge structure. We will start with recalling terminologies of D-modules involved in Hodge modules. Then I will give a very brief introduction of definitions of pure Hodge modules and mixed Hodge modules. At last, I will give some applications of Hodge modules like Kodaira-Saito's vanishing and Kollar's conjecture involving the higher direct images of dualizing sheaves.
