An introduction to Weierstrass fibration
Abstract: I will talk about the classification of singular fibres of elliptic fibration over an algebraic curve, then introduce the Weierstrass fibration. We will define the fundamental line bundle of a Weierstrass fibration. We will see that Weierstrass fibration can be regarded as a divisor of a rank 2 vector bundle over the base curve, and a double cover of a ruled surface with branch locus over which singular fibres appears. We will also calculate the invariants and Hodge numbers of Weiestrass fibration.
