Left orders on free products and left relatively convex subgroups.
Abstract: We present an approach yielding explicitly described orders on free products that is based on action on trees. Then we move to the notion of a relatively convex subgroup and show that maximal cyclic subgroups in many classes of groups are left relatively convex. At the end we describe conditions under which fundamental groups of graphs of groups are left orderable. Parts of the talk are based on joint works with Antolin and/or Dicks.
