Geometric realizations (of rings)
Abstract: Given a collection of rings, there is a way to associate a geometric space to the rings, which may yield more information about the rings. The idea comes from simplicial complexes and simplicial topological spaces, of which it is a generalization. The definition of a simplicial ring and its geometric realization will be presented, along with examples and extensions.
Caution: categories will be discussed in this talk, though at a very basic level, and no previous experience in this field is expected. Actually, this should not be a caution. Categories are everywhere, you should not resist their power.
