Ranks in differential fields
Abstract: The talk will be partly an introduction to differential algebraic geometry, in the sense of Kolchin. We will define various model theoretic ranks on the varieties this geometry, which are special cases of model theoretic notions on general definable sets. Calculating these ranks is not usually very easy, and we will discuss some recent results and open problems.
