Topology of some compact complex manifolds with flag variety geometric structures
Abstract: I will describe some recent joint work with Andrew Sanders in which we study the topology and complex geometry of "higher quasi-Fuchsian manifolds". These are compact complex manifolds that are quotients of open sets in flag varieties (G/P) of semisimple complex Lie groups by properly discontinuous actions of surface groups (embedded in G). Our work builds on the construction of such domains by Kapovich-Leeb-Porti, which I will also introduce.
