Adding Trees: Some Applications of Algebras of Trees to Applied Mathematics and Computer Science
Abstract: Trees have been an important tool in computation since at
least the work of Cayley. Less well known are how algebras of trees can
also be used as a computational tool. In this talk, we survey some of
the uses of algebras of trees in applied mathematics and computer
science.
