Introduction to Algebraic K-theory
Abstract: In the 50's, Grothendieck defined $K_0$ of a scheme in order to build a generalization of Riemann-Roch. We can examine the quality of information $K_0$ holds by using its universal property: all additive functions on your exact category (with codomain an abelian group) factor through it. We will describe higher K-theories (probably spending some time on $K_1$) and end with some modern perspectives.
