Highly transitive group actions and model theory
Abstract: We will give an overview of the construction of binding groups in model theory, also discussing their history and applications. Following this, we will talk about a new invariant in geometric stability theory with very concrete applications. It turns out the key to understanding this invariant has to do with understanding just how transitive a binding group can be. We will demonstrate the ideas in several settings (finite Morley rank, o-minimality, algebraic groups, differential algebraic equations) and leave some time for discussion speculating about other possible settings in which the notions might be useful.
