Abstract: In this informal talk we will discuss an anticlassification result for Archimedean ordered groups of finite rank recently obtained in joint work with Marker, Motto Ros, and Shani. We will explain how this is connected to some interesting open questions about the theory of countable Borel equivalence relations.
