Categorified Geometry
Abstract: This talk will assume some background in algebra; background in algebraic geometry is a plus, but not strictly necessary. We'll go through a quick tour of Morita theory and Tannakian Formalism, and discuss how to reconstruct geometric objects from their categories of sheaves. If time permits, I'll discuss tensor-triangular geometry, which is a way to apply these techniques to derived settings; notably modular representation theory and stable homotopy theory.
Pizza to follow for talk attendees.
